Selected range: all newsThe course is intended to acquaint beginning graduate students with basic principles of presenting the results of research work and with other important facts which will be of use for their career in research. Within the international context, the CAS recognises a growing need to devote the fullest attention to the systematic preparation of graduate students for research work.
The CAS organises a three-day course on the fundamentals in research work once a year in Prague. It is intended for 25–30 graduate students. The course is not compulsory and is offered at no cost. Each participant receives attendance confirmation at the end of the course.
To apply, it is necessary to submit a properly completed application form to Ing. Alice Stará (stara@kav.cas.cz), Secretariat of the Council for Cooperation with Universities and Graduate Study Programmes, CAS, Národní 3, 110 00 Prague 1.
Written consent of the supervisor to the graduate student's participation in the course is required in the application.
Venue of seminar: distance form: MS Teams
Type of seminar: presentations of seminars participants (10 min approx.), focused on particular problems from their postgraduate study.
Conditions to receive the credit: presentation abstract send before the course beginning, attendance of seminar sessions and short presentation.
To attend the seminar, you must first sign up by emailing msvojtkova@endo.cz and subsequently register in the SIS (only after receiving email confirmation).

The course takes place 3 – 14 November 2025 in the Milan Hašek Auditorium of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG), Vídeňská 1083, Praha 4 Krč (Krč campus of the biological institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences).
Typical attendees are the first and second year PhD students from biomedical programs.
The main aim of the two-week course is to inform the participants about the recent progress in the
fields of molecular biology, genetics and biomedicine together with selected new biotechnology approaches.
